                              RESOLUTION NO. 21539
                 
                 
                 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPROVAL OF A THIRD 
                 AMENDMENT TO THE AGREEMENT WITH DENNIS W. SMITH 
                 TO CONTINUE TO PERFORM INSPECTION SERVICES ON 
                 CONTRACT NOS. 73C, SWM-3-96 AND RW-8-96, BEYOND 
                 ORIGINALLY SET COMPLETION DATES, FOR AN 
                 ADDITIONAL CONSIDERATION OF THIRTY THOUSAND 
                 DOLLARS ($30,000.00) FOR A REVISED TOTAL AMOUNT 
                 OF ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE THOUSAND DOLLARS 
                 ($159,000.00).
                 
                 
                                                     
                 
                 
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, that there be and is hereby approved a 
       Third Amendment to the Agreement with Dennis W. Smith to continue 
       to perform inspection services on Sewer Contract No. 73C, 
       Stormwater Contract No. SWM-3-96, and Roadway Construction 
       Contract No. RW-8-96, beyond originally set completion dates, for 
       an additional consideration of $30,000.00, so as to increase the 
       total cost from $129,000.00 to $159,000.00.
